Add Annotate to Chrome.

The extension is what does the clipping. The web app you're on now is where everything you publish lives. You need both.

Prefer to load it unpacked?

Most people should just use the Chrome Web Store button above. If you'd rather run the open-source build directly — or want the latest unreleased changes — load it unpacked.

   Download the build

   Download annotate-extension.zip from the repo, then unzip it. You'll get a folder named annotate-extension.

   Open Chrome extensions

   Navigate to chrome://extensions and flip on Developer mode (top right).

   Load unpacked

   Click Load unpacked and select the annotate-extension folder you just unzipped. Pin Annotate so it's one click away.

   Open the side panel

   On any page — a YouTube video, an article, a podcast — click the Annotate icon. The side panel opens. Sign in with Google. Clip away.
